A conflict between French striker Kylian Mbappe and Paraguay goalkeeper Orlando Hill broke out after the 1/8 finals of the 2026 World Cup.

After France defeated Paraguay 1:0 in the 2026 World Cup 1/8 final, a conflict between Kylian Mbappe and Orlando Hill occurred immediately after the final whistle. After the game, Mbappe did not shake hands with Paraguay goalkeeper Hill, to which Hill reacted emotionally and threw the ball behind Mbappe's back. Mbappe was approaching his teammates and the incident did not escalate into a major clash between the players. Colleagues from both teams immediately calmed the situation. The French team will next face Morocco in the semifinals. The 2026 World Cup will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
