Haiti was officially eliminated from the 2026 World Cup after losing 0-3 to Brazil. All three of Brazil's goals came in the first half, with Matheus Cunha scoring twice and Vinicius Junior scoring one. Vinicius assisted on one of Cunha's goals, with the first two coming after turnovers in Haiti's midfield. Cunha's first goal came from a rebound from Vinicius' shot, and his second goal was a wonderful finish into the corner of the net after receiving a pass from Vinicius.
Haiti needed at least a draw to keep its World Cup hopes alive thanks to Morocco's win over Scotland that day, but the result left Brazil and Morocco tied with four points each in Group C. Scotland has three points. Haiti lost their first match against Scotland, so even if Scotland lost their final group match against Brazil and Haiti beat Morocco, they would be at a disadvantage in the match between the two teams.
After drawing with Morocco in the opening match of the World Cup, Brazil currently occupies first place in the group with an advantage over Morocco on goal difference.
